Holding pattern

The cancer holding pattern isn't quite the same as the planes circling and waiting to land.  It is however similarly unsettling.

As you all may have noticed, airplanes don't park in the sky-you kinda need to get them on the ground for that part.

Waiting while the Oncologist 'sees how things go' with a cancer in limbo is similarly unsettling.  You're neither in remission nor relapse.  You'd like to land and move on.  When asked how things are, the answer is something like: 'physically OK, but my head is a little messed up'.  The magical word 'closure' is not part of the conversation-a friend notes that it's the cancer wait and see: the patient waits and the Oncologist sees.  Will let you know what he sees in 6 weeks.

Thanks for all the support shown me and for indulging these tiptoe philosophical forays. Heaven forbid I ever dive into that head first :-)
